RELIABILITY ENGINEERING SERVICES

      Prediction of hardware reliability of electrical/avionic systems using MIL-HDBK-217F, Tecordia, etc.
  • Establishing definite Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) goals, both qualitative and quantitative, based on an extensive literature survey and collection of performance data from past experience.
  • Reliability apportionment and allocation of definite work packages to various design disciplines (such as mechanical, electrical, avionics, hydraulics, etc.) for estimating system reliability.
  • Estimation or optimization of reliability of mechanical components such as gears, bearings, and shafts.
  • Prediction of hardware reliability of electrical/avionic systems using MIL-HDBK-217F, Tecordia, etc.
  • Establishment of a proper failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action system (FRACAS) to record the failures/snags encountered during the prototype development phase and in-service.
  • Preparation and coordination of failure mode, effects, and criticality analysis (FMEA/FMECA) reports on various systems, both mechanical and electrical/electronic.
  • Preparation of fault tree analysis (FTA) reports.
  • Estimation of MTBF for components, equipment, and systems.
  • Creation and maintenance of an extensive Database on developmental snags and their corrective actions as part of the management information system.
  • Analysis of failure/snag data for establishing reliability trend.
  • Expertise in using widely used tools such as RELEX, Weibull (Reliasoft), and Isograph.
  • Reliability Growth Analysis using Duane & AMSAA models.
  • Testability analysis of systems and sub-systems.
  • Interaction with suppliers and vendors on R&M issues.
  • Interaction with customers on R&M improvement.
  • Interaction with domestic and international certification agencies on R&M issues.

MAINTAINABILITY & AVAILABILITY

  • Estimation of system maintainability and availability.
  • Maintenance studies such as accessibility, ergonomics, interchangeability, standardization, and modularity in major systems and components.
  • Studies on usage monitoring of aviation systems.
  • Estimation of maintenance manhours for optimization of system uptime.
  • coordination of specific maintenance demonstrations.
  • Preparation and optimization of maintenance/inspection schedules for TBO extension of LRUs, rotables, and aircraft systems.
  • Expertise in carried-out life/TBO extension studies.
